“THIS ARTICLE WAS PUBLISHED IN MODARRAZI MAGAZINE ON 1ST JUNE 2008.”

Last week, Sharon Stone illuminated the 61st Cannes Film Festival. She was there to support the AmFAR, the association fighting against aids an event that is organised every year in Cannes during the festival to collect funds. When she appeared there in a stunning panther dress a television channel from Taiwan interviewed her about the Tibetan situation and she gave a stormy answer that really over passed any logic.sharon_stone1

During the same week, she was the special guest of the Dior party at the Eden Roc Hotel. The glamorous blonde is one of the images of Christian Dior, all over the world her face is linked with the prestigious beauty and Fashion Company. During the party happy few enjoyed a delicious dinner partnered by ELLE magazine and offered by Sydney Toledano , Dior Couture Chairman . The star discovered the new ELLE cover, the magazine made in his last issue a large article revealing about her new life and a serial of photo pages by Jean Baptiste Mondino.

The new team of the best French actors were present to meet the Hollywood icon, such as Lou Doillon, Jean Reno and his wife Zofia, Aïssa Maïga, Zoé Félix, Gaspard Ulliel, Amira Casar. Sharon Stone who is certainly more appreciated now for her beauty and charm than for her acting performance and tried for years to make a come back in the box office seemed very pleased to meet Dany Boon who signed this year a film called “ Bienvenue chez les ch’tis” a comedy about to beat Titanic score at the French box office, later the funny entertainer Edouard Baer who arrived on late as usual made the show and everybody danced until late on the Beatrice Ardisson playlist. The night was a glamorous dream far away from the thunder orchestrated by Sharon Stone earlier.

This week Dior deeply apologised about Sharon Stone opinion and declaration which deeply shocked and hurt the Chinese people all over the world and also removed all her publicities from the Chinese market. Being a Star and a fashion icon is definitely far away from being a diplomat and no Sharon nobody deserves a disaster in this world. Do it right Sharon and make us dream.

Chanel Haute Couture

Purity of the lines, freshness of a blossom and luxury in the attitude. This season Karl Lagerfeld goes back to the essence of Coco Chanel’s spirit for eternal basics.

He calls it “the new modesty”… According to the recession wind over the world, in his latest Haute Couture collection the talented designer reveals his creativity making this ivory variation a wonderful journey in the world of elegance. The style is clean and modest but shows more than ever the skills of the ateliers of the brand.

Cocktail dresses are extremely sophisticated in their simplicity, sometimes a touch of black makes the innocent white become amazing and sassy. The headdresses are made of paper flowers and butterflies, probably a season’s must-have.

For evening events, Karl Lagerfeld designed fairy tale dresses made of lace, embroidered with sequin and ribbons. Chanel definitely forgot to be overdone and return to the Rue Cambon origins.

He was a legend and will remain, French designer Yves Saint Laurent died at 71 following a long illness.

He started to revolution the fashion world at 17 in 1953 after winning the first price at the International Wool Syndicate contest. Immediately after Christian Dior who was really impressed by this amazing new stylist hired him and YSL succeed to him at the head of the house after his sudden death.

He was one of the greatest designers of the world and his style completely changed women when he opened his own Haute Couture fashion house with the help of Pierre Berge his financial partner and boyfriend of the moment.

Everybody will remember his woman tuxedo, the safari style and all the colourful cocktail dresses mostly inspired by modern paintings.

Gifted by a wonderful taste and a modern view of woman power, he used to say “The best clothing for a woman is men arms but for those who are lonely I am there”

In 2002, he marked his retirement with a wonderful event and has been celebrated by all his staff, friends and models such as Katoucha who also died this year, Laetitia Casta, or Carla Bruni.

He also had all his life a terrible loneliness and depression that he fought with drugs and medicines. Pierre Bergé remained his special friend and shared the privacy of the very shy, nervous and secretive designer.

French women used to say that we all have something from Yves Saint Laurent and it will always be close to our hearts.

Nowadays, it is very common to see children wearing a Burberry trench, Pataugas boots, D&G vest or a Dior top, fashion is definitely no more an adult area but a wide creative and business field for designers. For mothers children clothing is a way to express their look but also a part of education introducing to them good taste and chic or “cool factor”, for a mother buying a Baby Dior T-shirt is like buying a perfume for herself, a little peace of the luxury dream.

Since ten years many new brands specialize in little ones fashion came out bringing a modern style more colourful, pastels are no more the only basic choice for trendy mum’s shopping bag some designers even use black colour like Sonia Rykiel and Agnès B. The French brand Bonpoint renewed it’s classy collection for fashionistas and stars such as Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise, Angelina Jolie and Claudia Schiffer. More affordable by all, Catimini, Z, IKKS offer a large choice of original creations using bright colours and funny textures. H&M and Zara make hype clothing at affordable rates.

Also adult designers are now increasing their collection in little shape sizes. Gerard Darel, Little by Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Baby Dior… Children corners are growing fast in every shop. The internet welcomes many sites providing a large choice of little picky brands such as WoW or Tuss.

The business is growing really fast and it seems the next step would be babies’ cosmetics which for now is still a product manufactured and marketed by pharmaceutical companies.

Untitled29Wedding dress 3

I recently fell in love with an amazing creation from House of Nyla and when I decided to contact the designer I didn’t know the dress story. I really met a very nice designer Nyla Cheeky who makes original creations with passion and simplicity, the brand of talented people… I decided to share with you the story of this wonderful wedding gown and also recreate on Second Life the wedding with my friend and model Schatzi Enzo and the wonderful work of the photographer Faith Latynina. We also made the dreamy honey moon come true to express all the creativity of Nyla who always has sensuality in each of her creations.

Nyla created a wedding gown in Real Life for Indy Film director Brie Koniczek. Not your typical wedding gown but an explosion of bright Red Duchess Silk. The bride had received some vintage silk dragon brocade from her family that was used as the top drapes, it was backed with a variegated golden charmeuse. To top it all off the embroidered dragon that is on the corset was stencilled from the groom’s tattooed chest, he has a dragon that wraps from his front chest all the way to his back. So when she embroidered the Dragon onto her corset she put it on the opposite side, his was on the right chest and hers on the left to symbolise yin and yang.

Congratulation to the happy Real Life couple from all the Déjà vu team.
